Ingredients:
1 Bag of Doritos (any flavor works, but Nacho Cheese is recommended for that classic Doritos taste)
1 egg
2 tablespoons milk
2 chicken breasts
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with foil for easy cleanup.
Begin by cutting the chicken breasts into strips, about ¾ inch wide. This size ensures even cooking and maximum crispiness.
In a shallow bowl, crush the Doritos until you have approximately 1 ½ cups of crushed Doritos. You can use a food processor for this step or simply crush them by hand using a rolling pin.
In another bowl, whisk together the egg and milk to create an egg wash.
Now, it’s time to coat the chicken strips. Dip each strip into the egg mixture, ensuring it’s fully coated, then dredge it in the crushed Doritos, pressing gently to adhere the chips to the chicken. Make sure each strip is evenly coated for ultimate flavor and crunch.
Place the coated chicken strips on the prepared baking sheet, making sure they are not touching each other to ensure even cooking.
Lightly spray the tops of the chicken strips with cooking spray. This helps them achieve a golden brown and crispy exterior.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-17 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the Doritos coating is golden and crispy.
Once cooked, remove the chicken tenders from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.
Serve your Doritos Chicken Tenders hot with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch or sour cream, for an extra burst of flavor.
