Ingredients:
1 orange
3 eggs
100 g of sugar
70 ml of oil
250g of flour
1 envelope of yeast (Baking Powder) Kitchen paper (For the mold)
Preparation:
1. To start, we wash the orange very well and remove the thickest parts from the ends and any imperfections it may have. You must bear in mind that we are going to put it whole, so everything that we should not eat must be removed.
2. In a container with high walls, suitable for beating, put the eggs, the sugar, the sunflower oil (you can also put very soft olive oil) and the orange, cut into slightly smaller pieces.
3. The idea of splitting the orange is to save time with the blender, so it is easier to crush it.
4. Once you have all these ingredients ready, beat them well until there are no lumps left.
5. Next we will add the flour and yeast.
6. To mix these ingredients use a spoon or a spatula and move it until it is fully mixed.
Assembly
of the mold and baking of the cake:
1. Place a small teaspoon of butter and, with the help of a folded paper napkin, spread it all over the inside of the mold, emphasizing the corners. In this way we prevent the cake from clinging to the mold and we facilitate subsequent demoulding.
2. Now all that remains is to put the mixture into the mold and take it to the oven previously preheated to 170ºC.
3. We are going to bake it for 35-40 minutes.
4. During the first 30 minutes, do not open the oven under any circumstances.
5. From that moment, you can go little by little checking the cooking point of the cake.
6. When you see that the toothpick comes out dry when you poke it, it is a sign that the orange cake is well cooked and you can take it out of the oven.
7. You let it cool out of the oven for 5-10 minutes and then you take it out of the mold.
